I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Between cold weather where in this almost impossible to
heat old house where my HOME OFFICE would not get over
fifty degrees and family / holiday responsibilites, I have
not had a chance to do this ezine until finally today.

I FINALLY got to get my grand daughter, Madison, my oldest
daughter’s daughter AND my grand son, Brayden, who is my
son’s son, 7 months old, BOTH on December 26 so this was
the first time they met and made for ONE happy Grandma!

http://tinyurl.com/9urnf8

we had expected Madison to be jealous of Brayden as she
is so much older and has pretty much had me to herself
BUT she was great and agreed to share HER Grandma with
him and HE WAS JEALOUS OF HER, lol. It was too cute,
the pic has them both looking over at me while my
youngest daughter is taking the picture as they would
not even smile when I tried to take it, they just both
stared at me! Anyway, Madison was on one leg and I had
Brayden on my lap but more on the other leg and every
time she got too close to me or I hugged, kissed or
even TALKED to HER, he would lean over and push her back!

Funny, too, SHE, who was not jealous of the other baby
on my lap and who we all called me Grandma to, WAS in fact
jealous when I was rubbing her Mommy’s belly and playing
with her baby brother due in April. She actually told
her Mom’s belly, “well, she was MY Grandma first”, lol.

Madison will be three on January 11 which is also her
Daddy’s birthday. Today is my *baby* brother’s birthday,
he is 42. He spent so much time with me as a baby/toddler
with my being so much older than him that he thought he
was MINE. My other brother is only two years younger
than me so there was quite a stretch between even them.

Here are pics with my Mom, son, youngest daughter,
my youngest brother’s son and OF COURSE, my grands.

Big Fat Dumb Costly Business Mistake: Quantity Does Matter
by Donna L. Johnson

Being the poster child for accountability, I don’t have a problem
with sharing my mistakes with the world. I look at it from the
perspective that my blunders save you time, provide learning
lessons, and result in more money in your pockets.

I spend quite a bit of time researching and learning from
other speakers and coaches by listening to their audios,
reading reports and newsletters, and participating in teleseminars.

Every guru I’d listened to always boasted about the number
of subscribers they had on their lists. I’d never listened
to anyone that was just getting started or who taught from
a beginner’s level. As such, I wasn’t aware of the importance
of creating your newsletter/ezine and sending it out regardless
of the number of people on your list. In this instance,
quantity trumps quality – some is better than none and you
need to market to your list of 10 or less just as you would
to a list of thousands.

You need to already have the infrastructure in place to support
your growing list and be ready for the influx of potential clients,
students, and mentees that are awaiting you. Let’s assume that you
send your newsletter out once a month. If each of those 10 folks
on your list forwarded your newsletter to just one person and that
person became a new subscriber, your list would double in roughly
30 days.  Your list of 10 has now grown to 20!

There will be those folks who tell you that it’s a waste of time
and money to market to such a small group of people. I’m here to
tell you that the people who have tens of thousands on their lists
didn’t just wake up one day to those numbers. It was a gradual process –
it may have taken some longer than others, but it didn’t just happen
because the opt-in fairy paid them a visit.

Happy 2009 to all of us!

Now that the Christmas festivities are over we can get ready for New Years! It is hard to beieve that it is almost 2009 already, time really did fly by this year!

Got to have BOTH of my grand children together at my house Friday, the day after Christmas.

Since my oldest daughter, Crystal, lives 94 miles away from me, she and my grand daughter, Princess Madison, who is turning three on January 11, had never met my son Justin’s son, my grand son, Prince Brayden, who lives 2 blocks from me. For one reason or the other, each time I had Madison HERE we could not get Brayden and when I had HER for 5 days and nights in September HE was sick and could not come to Grandma’s house. It was SO exciting to have them both here! Happy happy Grandma!

I am getting ready to make 2009 my best year ever, both personally and professionally and am wishing the same for all of you!

thanks for being with me for 2008 and may we all prosper in this new year!

New PC has now paid for itself!

header

It was with great joy ( and relief! ) that I opened up another sales confirmation emal today for my best selling digital collection, Helluva Sales package at

http://www.jtdhealth.com/helluva.html

I had made the rather hard decision to use funds I really could NOT afford to use to replace my 7 year old HP desktop after it had gotten corrupted and could no longer work, but as Ijustified to myself, ” this IS my livehood!” and I really had no choice. I am so happy I bit the bullet and made the investment. I have now made the entire amount of the investment back and am over $50 to the profit for doing so.; No HUGE news to the “big guns” and the “6 figure earners” but it is great news for me!

I also managed to get the third issue of Tallent Agency Gazzette out to my whole 26 subscribers and it was as exciting as when I get the issues of Rim Digest eZine out to over 2600! I LOVE doing ezines and consider doing those and my editing /proof reading services at

http://www.tallentagency.com

ta

as the “icing” on the cake of my internet marketing life.

PC Crash Nightmare!

MW

Well, it is with remorse and thanks for being such a useful resource that I must repectfully say goodbye to my seven year old, upgraded to the point of no more upgrades possible, HP desk top computer.

The only thing left TO upgrade or replace was the processor and I put it off a TAD too long and it got to the point where it took 5 to 20 attempts just to BOOT up and once applications started loading up it just froze and would not run.

Lucky for me I have had Operating Systems crash, lightning strikes that destroyed my pc’s and other reasons to get in the habit of backing up BUT, ignoring my own great advice to constantly do this, I found that once again I had neglected to back up the things I would most need when the old PC hit the dust.

I have spent the past few days pretty much unable to work being trying unsuccessfully to FIX the old one to finally breaking down and replacing it with a new one, which I have been learning to use as quickly as possible and slowly but surely getting most of my info, files and other necessities onto it.

I am now thankfully back in business and waiting for a tech friend to put the cd drive from the old computer into the new one safely so that I can access the files and apps I need and then make sure I do as least weekly backups of ALL, including mail, which I am really lax at backing up but contains most of my log-ins, affiliate details, sales and expense records and more.

Good to be back up and running and the lesson today is BACK IT UP and so do constantly!

whew! what a week!

First Blog Talk Radio interview, lol

Well, I was scared half to death until ten minutes before “show time” and my great supportive friends helped me get calmed down and ready to GO when as I called IN to start my first ever Blog Talk Radio show interview with my friend and Rim Digest ezine subscriber, Anthony Whyms, BOOM! he had technical difficulties and we had to reschedule the show!

So next Monday, October 27, at 7pm central time, I WILL have my interview and that is final, lol. God and computer and internet willing, that is!

Fix my roof Emergency Disaster Sale

mw

Well, it happened AGAIN! In the spring of 2008, thanks to generous donations and sales of this firesale package: http://www.janronmedia.com/firesale  I managed to replace my damaged roof with a brand new one. Words cannot say how grateful I was for the assistance I received to do this.

Now along comes Hurricane Gustav and we were hit by the storms, wind and rain at the end of this disaster and between strong winds, reported of being up to 60 mph by the time they reached my area, and torrential rains of reportedly 6 or so inches within just a couple of hours, a slit was made IN my new roof, enabling rain to pour INTO my kitchen through the rafters and splitting the seams of the drywall. This ruined the drywall in the ceiling, the insulation in the crawl space, one wall of the kitchen plus the counter top, cabinets and floor!

This was devastating in itself as I had gutted and replaced the entire kitchen in 2001 or 2002 with ALL new floor, walls, ceiling, insulation, electrical upgrade, plumbing, cabinets, counter tops and appliances. Added to this, if that were NOT enough, a week later a raccoon had apparently gotten into the exposed part of the roof, fallen through the weak ceiling doing even more damage to a kitchen that was barely usable with floors that are soaked UNDER the tile and cabinets that are falling apart therefore barely able to close or reopen once they ARE closed.

http://www.jantallent.com/jan/Kitchen.zip pics here

So, sadly, here I am again, promoting what was a terrific fire sale package, an excellent assortment of useful and profitable additions to an existing digital sales business or quite ample to start one of you own AND my biggest seller of all time

http://www.jantallent.com/firesale/index.html

and offering two for the price of one ads on this web site for my ezine of 8 years, http://www.rimdigest.com/ads.html

so I can once again, replace my roof and hopefully repair or replace the kitchen. Please tell anyone you know who might be interested in any of these offers, WITHOUT SPAMMING! – and if you would like and do not yet, you can follow me and the progress of these sales on
http://twitter.com/jantallent.

I would honestly much rather make sales and earn the money to do these repairs but if there is nothing you need in this offer and you feel compelled to help, donations of any size to jantd@charter.net via paypal would be greatly appreciated.

I know it might sound like a scam to raise sympathies after having done this same thing in the spring of 2008, but I assure you on my ten years good standing on the net and my 8 years of being a charter member of http://i-cop.org/charter.htm iCop  that this is totally legit and a tragedy I would much rather have done without.
